What Affects the Accuracy of Motion Detectoin?

The working principle of motion detection is that the camera will judge it as motion when differences in 2 frames reach 0.5%-10% (customize by adjusting motion sensitivity) of the image. When the picture changes, the number calculated and compared will exceed the threshold and instruct the system to automatically make corresponding processing.

Motion detection will be greatly affected by the motion area & sensitivity you set for the camera. It will also affected by the environment you installed where this camera, the size of the moving object, the frequency of movement, and the length of the distance, etc.

Meanwhile, it may cause false alarms due to light, wind, noise, and color switching.

Our motion detection settings include sensitivity and area.

For the WiFi cameras, motion detection is based on the frame comparison, so the area that the camera set to detect is the key. Here are the tips to avoid false alerts:

  • Set the proper motion detection area on the camera, refer to Set up Motion Detection Area for Yeewise Cameras.
  • Set the proper sensitivity for the camera, refer to Set up Motion Detection Sensitivity for Yeewise Cameras.
